After 3 months of apartment hunting in this crazy market, I've learned to spot red flags the hard way. Thought I'd share some warning signs I wish I knew earlier:
š© Landlord won't let you see the actual unit ("similar unit available")
š© Asking for 6+ months rent upfront
š© No written lease, just verbal agreements
š© Can't meet the landlord in person, only through "property manager"
š© Photos look too good to be true (reverse image search is your friend!)
What are some red flags you've encountered? Share your horror stories so we can help other renters avoid the same mistakes. This market is brutal enough without getting scammed!
