Confused about pet deposit legality in Ontario

Is a pet deposit legal in Ontario? My landlord is asking for a pet fee, and I’m unsure if that’s even allowed. What can they charge me? I’ve heard about things like pet rent or fees, but I’m really confused. Are these considered deposits or something else entirely?
