Unusual Rent Increase Clauses - Is This Normal?

I just received a notice about a rent increase, but it mentions a clause about a 'market adjustment' that wasn't in my original lease. Is this even legal? How can they raise the rent by what seems like an arbitrary amount? Feeling confused and skeptical about my rights here!
