Struggling with rent eating 50% of my salary - is this normal?

I’m feeling really stressed about my rent. I’m paying $2400 a month, but I only make $60k a year. That’s 48% of my income! The 30% rule feels completely impossible in Toronto. Am I crazy for spending this much on rent? How do people make it work?
