Looking for tips on renting in Leslieville this winter

Hey everyone! I’m moving to Toronto in January and really keen on finding a place in Leslieville. Can anyone tell me what rent prices are like this time of year? Also, what should I know about heating in older buildings? Any advice for a first-timer would be amazing!
