Confused About Pet Deposits in Ontario - Help!

I'm really stressed because my landlord is asking for a pet deposit, and I'm not sure if that's even legal in Ontario. I keep hearing mixed things about pet fees vs deposits, and what exactly can they charge? Is a landlord allowed to ask for pet rent? Any clarity would be much appreciated!
