Need moving tips in Toronto - just dealt with a nightmare landlord!

Anyone else fed up with their landlord? I'm moving out next month and need advice on whether to rent a truck or hire movers. Also, when's the best time for this? I want to avoid peak moving days. Any horror stories or best tips to share? I could really use the support right now!
