Is rent eating half my paycheck normal? Need advice!

I’m feeling really stressed about my rent situation. With the prices in Toronto, I find myself spending almost 50% of my income on rent! They say the 30% rule is a guideline, but it feels impossible. Can anyone else relate? Can I even afford $2400 per month on a $60k salary?
