Is it me or is the rental market just a complete nightmare?!

Another rent increase, seriously? Just saw a bachelor listed for $2800! Who do they think they are?! I’m so sick of bidding wars and every time I view a place, it's gone within hours. It’s absolutely exhausting and feels so impossible to find a decent place without getting ripped off!
