2 years of downtown Toronto apartment living - what I wish I knew before

Just moved out after 2 years in a Financial District condo. Learned so much about downtown living that I wish someone had told me before signing that first lease. Biggest surprises: noise levels vary wildly even in the same building, grocery costs downtown, and how important building management quality is. Happy to share more specific lessons if people are interested.
