Anyone know what's happening in Kensington Market?

I’ve been considering Kensington Market after seeing some listings, but I worry about the vibe. Is it still a chill place or too touristy? And how are the rentals? I’ve heard they're kinda pricey for the size, but the area has character. Anyone currently living there able to weigh in?
