Curious about witholding rent for necessary repairs in Toronto

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with withholding rent due to necessary repairs in a shared rental. What are the legal implications? Can I pay into the LTB instead of the landlord? Also curious about any rights around rent reductions if repairs are delayed. Thanks!
