Stressed about needing a co-signer for my rental application

I’m feeling overwhelmed because my landlord is asking for a co-signer, but I can’t find anyone to help. What are the responsibilities of a guarantor? If I can’t secure one, what are my options? Are there ways to get approved without a guarantor? Please advise!
