Need advice on renting in Kensington Market this winter

I'm planning to move to Toronto and I'm really interested in Kensington Market. I’ve seen some listings around $2,000 for 1-bedroom apartments. Is that a reasonable price? Also, what’s it like living there in the winter? Any tips on what to consider before signing a lease would be super helpful!
