Confused about these unusual lease clauses in Toronto?

I’m really puzzled by some of these lease terms! Like, why would a landlord require renters to buy specific renter's insurance without recommending any particular provider? And what’s with the clause that says the tenant can't hang anything on the walls? Just trying to understand what's normal here.
