Is Moving to Hamilton or Oshawa Worth the Commute?

I'm contemplating a move to Hamilton or Oshawa to escape Toronto prices. What's the total monthly rent after taxes? Is commuting to Toronto viable with the GO train? I'm curious about others' experiences living in the suburbs and if the savings are worth the potential longer commute times.
