This rental market is driving me insane!

Just got hit with ANOTHER rent increase. Seriously? How is anyone supposed to afford this? I can't believe my landlord wants $2800 for a bachelor unit! I’ve viewed 15 places this month and they’re all taken within HOURS. This is so frustrating; I’m exhausted and it’s only getting worse!
