How far from the subway is too far for a basement apartment?

I'm considering a basement apartment that’s about a 20-minute walk from the nearest subway station. I know it’s not the worst, but with winter coming up, I'm worried about how much I’ll dread that trek in the snow. Anyone else in a similar spot? How do you manage?
