Worried about special assessment costs for renters?

I’ve heard about a special assessment affecting our condo, and I’m really concerned about how this will impact rent. Do renters like us have to pay these extra fees? Is there a chance we’ll see rent increases because of it? I’m even considering leaving if it becomes too expensive.
