Confused About Pet Deposits in Ontario?

Is a pet deposit legal in Ontario? I heard my landlord wants a pet fee, but aren't pet deposits considered illegal here? What are the rules regarding what landlords can charge for pets? Isn't there a difference between pet rent and deposits? Help clear up my confusion!
