Living in Toronto: The Battle Against Noise

I've been living in a downtown rental and the noise is driving me crazy! Between loud neighbors, thin walls, and construction outside my window, it feels like there's no escape. Anyone else dealing with similar issues in the pricey neighborhoods? I'm tempted to invest in soundproofing!
