How's the Soudan Ave area for rentals? Transit decent?

I'm looking into moving to the Soudan Ave area in Toronto and would love to hear from anyone who lives around there. How are the rent prices compared to other areas? Is the transit access good? Any insights on safety and community vibe would be great too!
