Is a pet deposit legal in Ontario? Confused!

I'm trying to understand the rules around pet deposits in Ontario. Is it legal for a landlord to ask for a pet deposit or fee? I heard something about pet rent too. What exactly can a landlord charge for having a pet? I'm really confused about all this!
