Frustrated with My Landlord's Ignored Repair Requests!

I've been living in my apartment for two months now, and it's been a nightmare! My heating doesn't work, and despite repeated requests, my landlord ignores me. I can't take cold nights anymore! How is it okay to leave tenants in such uninhabitable conditions? Anyone else facing this in Toronto?
