Pet Deposit Confusion in Ontario - Need Guidance!

So, I was just informed that my landlord wants a pet deposit, but I've heard that pet deposits are actually illegal in Ontario? Can anyone clarify if that's true? Also, what can landlords charge for pets? Is there such a thing as pet rent or just pet fees? I'm really nervous about getting approved!
