What’s the scoop on rentals in the Annex these days?

I’m considering moving to the Annex now that the kids are off on their own. I love the vibe here, but I’m curious about the rental scene. Are there still decent spots available? And how’s safety these days? I remember it was bustling but has it changed much recently?
