Does paying rent help build your credit score?

I've been exploring how rent payments can build credit in Toronto. I've heard there are rent reporting services that can report these payments to credit bureaus. Does anyone know if reporting rent payments really improves your credit score over time? I'm hopeful it can make a difference!
