Looking for family-friendly rentals in Toronto - advice needed!

We're relocating to Toronto with our two kids and I have so many questions! I'm particularly interested in neighborhoods with good schools, like Leaside or The Beaches. How do the rental prices around $3000-$3500 look for a 3-bedroom? Any tips on safety and parks nearby would be greatly appreciated!
