Advice on renting in East York with kids

Hi everyone! We're planning to move to Toronto soon and are looking for a rental in East York. We have two kids, so school quality and safety are top priorities for us. What are the rental rates like in that area? Any suggestions on specific streets or buildings? Thanks!
