Why is rent 30-50% higher in the same building? Total shock!

I just started searching for a new apartment in Toronto and I can't believe the prices! Why is rent $800 more for new tenants? It’s the same building, but there's this crazy turnover rent spike. It's frustrating to see the old vs new tenant pricing. How is this fair? #RentCrisis
