Is rent really supposed to eat half my income?

I'm feeling so stressed about my housing situation in Toronto. The 30% rule seems impossible for me, with rent rates skyrocketing. Can anyone relate? Can I even afford $2400 a month on a $60k salary? It feels like I'm spending way too much on rent and it’s all-consuming. Any advice?
