How safe is the Parkdale neighborhood for rentals?

I'm considering renting in Parkdale and would love to hear from anyone familiar with the area. How safe is Parkdale, especially at night? Are there particular streets to avoid? Also, any insights on local amenities would be greatly appreciated!
