Help! My landlord entered without notice!

I can't believe my landlord walked in on me without giving 24 hours notice! This feels like a serious violation of my privacy rights. I thought they could only enter in emergencies, but is this really legal? I need clarity on the rules for how and when they can enter my apartment.
