Tired of Losing Rentals to Higher Bids! What Should I Do?

I'm so frustrated with these bidding wars for rentals in Toronto! I've lost out on a few places already because of higher offers. How do I even know what a fair bid is? Do I go all in or play it safe? This whole sealed bid thing is so stressful!
