How do you all manage TTC access with high rent?

I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Rents are skyrocketing, but I'm also trying to find a place with decent TTC access. What’s the trade-off? Is paying more for a convenient subway station worth it? I can't stand endless bus transfers.
