Pet Deposit Confusion in Ontario - What Can Landlords Charge?

I’m confused about whether a landlord can ask for a pet deposit in Ontario. Is a pet deposit legal here? Or can they only charge pet fees? What’s the difference? I’ve heard some landlords might even ask for pet rent. What can they really charge for pets?
