How do you all handle long transit commutes to class?

I'm new to Toronto and it's been a struggle! My classes are downtown, but I live in Scarborough, and my commute is around 90 minutes each way. I can't tell if it’s just part of the experience or if I should be looking for something closer. Any tips?
