Need advice on winter rent prices in downtown Toronto

I'm looking at rentals in the St. Lawrence Market area and have seen a few places listed between $2100 and $2600. With winter approaching, should I be negotiating the prices? Is winter a slow season for rentals, or is it still competitive? Any insights would be appreciated!
