How's the Rose Ave area in Toronto for families?

I'm considering moving to the Rose Ave area in Toronto with my family and would love to hear from anyone living there. What are the rentals like? Is it a safe neighborhood with good schools and parks nearby? Also, how's the transit access? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
