Confused About Pet Deposits and Fees in Ontario

I'm unsure if a pet deposit is legal in Ontario. My landlord is asking for a pet fee, but I've heard pet deposits might be illegal here. What can they actually charge for having a pet? Is there a difference between a pet rent and a deposit? I'm just trying to understand the rules!
