What's the buzz in St. Lawrence Market?

I've been eyeing places in St. Lawrence Market for subletting and can’t help but love the energy here. The food scene is incredible, but I’m curious about the rental prices. Anyone know how it compares to the Distillery District? Also, is safety still a concern at night?
