Do green buildings really save you money? Skeptical thoughts.

I've been looking at LEED and WELL certified buildings, but the eco-premiums seem steep. Is it normal to pay more for these features? I'm curious if the sustainable claims translate into actual savings on bills or just marketing hype. Anyone have real experiences?
