Is it worth the TTC commute from East York to downtown?

I’ve been debating whether to stick out my place in East York. With a 45-minute each way transit time on the subway, I feel like I barely have time for anything else. Is it worth living further out for a more spacious apartment? Or do I need to suck it up for convenience?
