Need advice on lease renewal and tenant rights before moving!

Hey all, I'm in a bit of a panic as my lease is up next month and I still haven’t found a new place. Can anyone clarify what my rights are if I choose to stay month-to-month? Also, what are my landlord’s obligations if I decide to inform them late? Thanks for any help!
