First time renting in Toronto - what’s usually required?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to rent my first apartment in the Beaches this January and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. What do landlords usually ask for in applications? Credit checks, references, or something else? Any advice on how to increase my chances of approval would be great!
