Are these deposit fees even legal?

My landlord just hit me with a pet deposit and a key deposit, but I’m really questioning whether they can even charge that. I've heard some fees aren't allowed in Ontario. Has anyone dealt with this? What are the actual rules regarding deposits that landlords can ask for?
