Frustrations with My New Landlord in Toronto

I just moved to Toronto and my landlord has been so unresponsive! Promised to fix the leaking sink a week ago, but nothing has happened. I’m anxious about my deposit after hearing horror stories of landlords keeping it for no reason. Is this normal? I'm feeling really overwhelmed!
