This rental market is a total nightmare!

Another rent increase, seriously?! I can't believe my landlord wants $2800 for a bachelor! What kind of insane market are we living in? I just got outbid again on a place that was literally a moldy basement with questionable windows. How is anyone supposed to survive this? It's beyond ridiculous!
