Rent increases and impossible bidding wars - I'm losing hope!

Another rent increase, seriously? $400 more for a tiny one-bedroom?! How is anyone supposed to afford this? I viewed 15 places this week, and every single one was taken within hours. Just got outbid again—this market is impossible! I'm so sick of these landlords cashing in on our misery!
