Another day, another rent increase - this is madness!

Just saw that my landlord wants to hike my rent up $400! Like how is anyone supposed to afford this? Every time I think I find a decent place, it's gone within hours. And don’t even get me started on those basement apartments with tiny windows - I can't believe these conditions are even legal!
